Cyclone Fengal has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is moving toward the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts. Right now, it is about 480 km away from Chennai, 410 km from Puducherry, and 310 km from Nagapattinam.
In the next 24 hours, the cyclone is expected to get stronger, with wind speeds of 70–80 km/h and gusts reaching up to 90 km/h. It is moving north-northwest and is expected to hit land between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram on the morning of November 30.
